EMDR Therapist for Post-partum depression (maternal/paternal), Birthing traumaDavid Archer, MSW, MFT,is an anti-racist psychotherapist from Montreal, Canada whounderstands that the original name of this unceded territory is“Tio’tià:ke”. Having invested more than eleven years in thefield of mental health services, he is keenly aware of the needs ofunderserved populations including members of the African Diaspora,survivors of colonization, and those persons who have experiencedintergenerational trauma.Asan Approved EMDR consultant, he maintains a full time privatepractice and he is often recruited to provide consulting services toother therapists and organizations throughout North America. He is anMSW graduate from McGill University in Montreal, and has also beentrained and registered as a Couple and Family Therapist. Hisexpertise has been influenced by the principles of mindfulness,intersectional feminism, and critical race theory. He is one of thefew mental health professionals in Canada who can provide EMDR,Brainspotting, EFT, and other mind-body strategies utilizing memoryre-consolidation and working memory taxation methods. Additionalareas of clinical interest include working with individuals who havesuffered from PTSD, racial trauma, minority stress, addictions,relational conflict, and eating disorders.
