Job Description:

Research Manager

Mino Care is looking for a motivated and organized Research Manager who will be responsible for the day to day management of research activities.  The main role is to oversee and manage the research project funded by PHAC, titled the "Black Canadian Perinatal Health Network: A Canadian African, Caribbean, Black (ACB) Reproductive and Perinatal Health Research and Policy Initiative".  The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership and research skills.

Roles/Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

● Develops and implements high-quality research strategies and protocol

● Supervises research team members and develops work plans for deliverables

● Establishes performance indicators for the project, quality assurance and compliance in collaboration with the executive leadership team

● Demonstrates understanding of key theories and concepts in the healthcare system, including access, quality, and effective availability of services for maternal, infant, and child health

● Produces interim and final reports on research activities, including methodology, findings, limitations and recommendations

● Collaborates with leadership team, partners, funders, and stakeholders to analyze and present data-driven information

● Actively contributes to strategic planning and implementation, with a focus on expanding and integrating research initiatives

● Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein

Qualifications

● Master’s degree in the relevant field of research and preferably a doctorate degree and/or equivalent experience in quantitative and qualitative research

● Knowledge and/ or interest relating to health disparities in the African, Black, Caribbean (ACB) community

● Experience managing research initiatives and training/supervising research staff

● Demonstrates analytical and diagnostic skills for data review, synthesis and reporting

● Ability to work independently and as a team member

● Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time management skills

● Ability to optimize resources and timelines to ensure research quality and efficiency

● Previous experience in creating, maintaining and monitoring productivity and outcome reports

Time Commitment:

30 hours a week- 12 months contracted (possibility of renewal).
